Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Renovation Register website and services (the “Service”), operated by [COMPANY NAME] Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. [COMPANY NUMBER]), registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS] (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Renovation Register is an online directory of energy-renovation installers and a free enquiry-matching service for homeowners. We are an introduction and listing platform. We are not a party to any contract between a homeowner and an installer, do not carry out installation work, and do not employ or control listed installers.

2. Homeowner enquiries

Submitting an enquiry is free. When you submit an enquiry we share your details with one relevant MCS-certified installer in your area so they can contact you (see our Privacy Policy). We do not guarantee that an installer will respond, quote, or carry out work, and we are not responsible for the quality, price, timing, conduct or outcome of any work. You should carry out your own checks before engaging an installer.

3. Verified Partner subscription (installers / businesses)

Read this section carefully. The Verified Partner subscription is sold to businesses only and is the subject of the specific, non-refundable terms below.

3.1 What you are purchasing

A Verified Partner subscription is a paid status and placement service. It provides:

  • the “Verified Partner” badge on your directory listing;
  • priority placement above non-partner listings in relevant search results; and
  • exclusive routing to you of qualifying homeowner enquiries matched to your area and the technologies you install, while your subscription is active.

You are purchasing this status and placement — not leads, enquiries, jobs, revenue, appointments, or any specific result or volume. Enquiry numbers depend on homeowner demand, your area, your responsiveness and factors outside our control. We make no representation or warranty that the subscription will generate any particular number of enquiries, any jobs, or any return.

3.2 Business customers — no consumer cancellation rights

The Verified Partner subscription is offered exclusively to businesses (trade installers) acting in the course of their business. You confirm you are entering into it as a business and not as a consumer. Accordingly, statutory consumer cancellation and “cooling-off” rights (including under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) do not apply.

3.3 Fees, term and no refunds

The subscription is an annual service, billed in advance. It is an intangible digital service activated immediately on payment; it is not a physical or consumable good. All fees are non-refundable in whole or in part once the subscription has started, regardless of how many enquiries you receive, whether you respond to them, whether any work is won, or whether you stop using the Service. Cancelling does not entitle you to any refund or credit for the remaining term; it stops the next renewal only.

3.4 Signed-Jobs Guarantee — free-renewal remedy only

Where your plan states a guaranteed number of signed and installed jobs per annual period, the following applies. A “signed and installed job” means a project that a homeowner introduced to you through the Service has signed and that you have installed — not an enquiry, lead, quote request or appointment.

If, at the end of the annual period, you have not received the guaranteed number of signed and installed jobs, your sole and exclusive remedy is a free renewal of your subscription for the following annual period. The guarantee does not entitle you to any refund, credit, cash payment or compensation of any kind.

The guarantee is conditional on you, throughout the period:

  • responding to each routed enquiry promptly (within 2 business days) and in good faith;
  • not declining, ignoring or failing to follow up on routed enquiries;
  • keeping your listing details, service area, technologies and contact information accurate and up to date;
  • holding and maintaining valid MCS certification (or equivalent) for the relevant technologies;
  • quoting and pricing competitively and conducting yourself professionally with homeowners; and
  • reporting outcomes (won/lost) when we reasonably ask, so jobs can be verified.

We may decline a guarantee claim where these conditions are not met, where enquiries were not worked, or where the shortfall results from your own acts or omissions. The guarantee applies once per period and is not cumulative.

3.5 Exclusivity

While active, qualifying enquiries routed to you are sent to you and not shared with other partners. Exclusivity applies only to enquiries we route to you and does not prevent homeowners from contacting other installers independently.

3.6 Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically for successive annual periods unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current paid period by contacting hello@renovationregister.co.uk. No mid-term refunds are given (see 3.3). We may change fees on renewal with reasonable notice.

4. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, submit false information, scrape or harvest data, attempt to disrupt the Service, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, without refund.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, its content, branding and software are owned by us or our licensors. Directory listing information may derive from public certification registers. You may not copy, resell or republish the directory or any substantial part of it.

6. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties, including any warranty as to enquiry volume, lead quality, suitability or outcome. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to the above, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service (including the Verified Partner subscription) is limited, in aggregate, to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings or business, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

7. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published here at the time you use the Service applies. Material changes affecting active subscriptions will take effect on renewal.
